individuals and groups must recognise local and cultural diversity, geography and equality of
opportunity and provide a range of access points both online and traditional drop in facilities to
meet these diverse needs. The merger will facilitate this through the development of a 'one stop
shop' to support transition to College, offering greater opportunity for the integration of linked
student services including; admissions, student funding, personal support and careers advice in a
convenient and accessible location. This means that our students can access advice and guidance
on training programmes, career options, how and when to apply and issues to consider before
starting a course, in a single visit.
4.1 Student /Learner Services - Objectives
4.1.1 Develop and maintain a centralised student recruitment and selection process which
promotes diversity and equality of opportunity; and is underpinned by:
• A transparent and open process;
• Selection based upon merit and potential;
• Processes & procedures that are reliable, valid & relevant;
• Clear, unambiguous information & advice
• A desire to minimise barriers to participation; and
• Professionalism
4.1.2 Manage Bursaries and EMAs to meet students' needs by:
• Providing a clear process of assessment;
• Providing accessible information and guidance for applicants applying for funding;
• Ensuring a robust payment process.
