3. Stakeholder Identification and
Consultation Management
Stakeholder Identification
3.1 There are various stakeholders linked to the NCG project that Atkins, GVA Grimley and NCG Ltd
will identify. There is a requirement that these stakeholders are continuously kept up-to-date as
the project progresses.
3.2 The identified stakeholders have been broken down into two categories in order to manage them
efficiently, these being 'statutory' and 'non statutory stakeholders'. For ease of reference,
within both categories, each stakeholder has been be identified as one of the following:
• Local Authority
• Government Agencies
• Community
• Education
• Infrastructure/Utilities
3.3 Atkins will adopt a process to ensure that the list of stakeholders is maintained and developed as
necessary and highlight how they will be managed (refer to Figure 3.1).

Stakeholder Consultations
3.4 Stakeholder consultations are a major influence during the project lifecycle; therefore, a process of
documenting stakeholder consultations is required.
3.5 Appendix A.2 provides a template of the invitation letter, prepared by GVA Grimley to be sent out
to all stakeholders at the start of the consultation process. This template has been used by GVA
Grimley for Communication with a number of stakeholders to date.
