32 SCDI has no specii c comments on the governance, management and i nances of New College
Glasgow.
33 Estates issues for the new college campus as a whole should be determined and resolved as soon as
possible to enable all stakeholders to realize the vision for the new college.
34 My comments here are in relation to the property, in that, I do hope that the new build is i t for purpose
and showcases what both Education & Glasgow can achieve.
35 The value for money case would be enhanced by a four-college merger.
Furthermore, additional analysis of portfolio plans (as intimated above) may contribute to overall cost
savings (revenue and capital).
36 Given the estates development which is planned for the University, there may be opportunities
for renewed discussions with New College Glasgow to discuss shared facilities given the emerging
"Learning Quarter" and the proximity of the two institutions within the geography of this quarter.
