Sunita Williams
ASTRONAUT (1965 - present)
Sunita Williams is an American astronaut
and US Navy officer of Indian origin who
previously held the records for most
spacewalks by a woman and most
spacewalk time for a woman. She was
selected by NASA in 1998 and is a veteran
of two space missions and is currently
training for the first post-certification
mission of Boeing's Starliner spacecraft.
She was the first person to ever run a
marathon in space.
Sylvia Earle
MARINE BIOLOGIST (1935 - present)
Sylvia Earle is President and Chairman of
Mission Blue / The Sylvia Earle Alliance. She
has been a National Geographic Society
Explorer in Residence since 1998 and was
the first female chief scientist of the U.S
National Oceanic and Atmospheric
Administration. She has been named first
Hero for the planet by Times Magazine and a
Living Legend by the Library of Congress.
She is also part of Ocean Elders, a group
dedicated to protecting the ocean and its
wildlife.
