2.6.2 The location of the Emergency Response Centre selected for any incident will
depend on the location and nature of the incident (see 2.6.5 below). If necessary it
may be located in a rented/hired facility such as a nearby hotel. Members will be
notified of the centre to be used when the emergency or amber alert is declared.
2.6.3 The Executive Leadership Team, via the Vice Principal Corporate Services, will
ensure that sufficient resources are available for use at the Emergency Response
Centre, including:
a. Mobile phones
b. Land lines
c. Networked PCs with Internet Access, television, and print facility
d. Torches and spare batteries
e. Office equipment as necessary
f. Site Plans (held adjacent to site fire panels) including locations of:
• Fire Hydrants and water hoses
• Floor layouts
• Utility shut off points
• Department occupancy
• Entrances and exits
• Plant rooms
• IT and Communications rooms
• Gas pipelines
• Hazardous material storage
2.6.4 In the event of a major incident, the Emergency Control Centre will be made
available 24/7 if necessary.
2.6.5 Among possible locations for the Emergency Response Centre are:
• City Campus Executive Suite Floor 6, (or Security Office Floor 0)
• Boardroom, Floor 7, Riverside Campus (or Reception Area Ground Floor)
• Marine Skills Centre, Riverside
• Or any other space deemed suitable by the Principal/Business Continuity
Team.
