(b) Emergency Response: Location Team Member
Emergency Response Team members for each main College location are outlined at
Appendix 1A. The Team Member Emergency Response checklist is as follows:
Emergency Response (ER) Team Checklist
Check
Meet up with ER Team Leader at an agreed point - establish
common understanding
Shut down heating/ ventilation and make safe utilities - water, gas,
fuel oil and electricity
Obtain visitors and contractors logs
Ensure that access routes are kept clear for Emergency Services
Ensure no unauthorised entry
Advise Emergency Services of any missing persons
Provide support for the ELT/SMT as directed by the Team Leader
Prepare Incident Report Form (as per template provided - Appx 3)
Consider immediate actions to be taken by specialist staff - IT,
Estates, HR etc.
Decide what to do with staff in the short term
Brief managers to instruct staff to return to work or go home
Attend to any problems arising from:
• Denial of access to cars
• Loss of/lack of access to personal effects (e.g. cash, keys)
If appropriate collect next of kin lists and give to Police when
requested
Reference the site drawings for information as appropriate
