2.1 Planning For An Emergency
2.1.1 The Vice Principal Corporate Services shall maintain an IT Disaster Recovery
Plan, which will assist in the recovery of critical electronic data following a hardware
or software failure. The Vice Principal (CS) shall also ensure normal College
procedures on backing up and storing vital electronic data are followed and
communicated regularly.
2.1.2 The Senior Management Team will ensure that an appropriate Disaster
Recovery Plan is in place covering each College faculty and operation, to ensure
minimum disruption to key learning and teaching and other activities. Standard
practice should be to maintain electronic copies of all learning & teaching and
assessment materials (and other key documentation) and for these to be regularly
backed up, with back-ups held securely. In exceptional cases only, where teaching &
learning materials are not stored and backed-up electronically, then consideration
must be given to keeping a hardcopy of teaching & learning materials at another
College site.
