9.8 Business Continuity Strategy
9.8 Business Continuity Strategy
Corporate Services
Merger is a dii cult time for all
organisations and the achievement of the
benei ts generated by this merger will
require careful planning.
The key requirement is to maintain the
continuity of the student experience in
the period leading up to and beyond
merger. To achieve this, we will put in
place the following arrangements:
We will not change the location of
courses for existing students;
Movement of teaching staf between
sites will be limited to the absolute
minimum to maintain the continuity
of programmes, although the transfer
of some staf may enhance business
continuity in some instances;
Changes to awarding body
arrangements will only be introduced
after careful consideration of the
options. The timings of any such
changes will take into account the
training needs of staf needing to
teach to dif erent schemes of work.

We have also carried out a detailed
assessment of corporate service
arrangements for the period leading up
to and beyond merger. The full report
setting out the proposed arrangements
is attached (Appendix 3 Corporate
Services).
Careful planning to implement the
corporate service changes necessary
as a result of the merger will help to
maintain business continuity. To minimise
risks to day-to-day operations, we will
engage specialist support to assist with
the restructuring of corporate and other
services. Our aim will be to achieve the
restructuring required by 12 months
after merger.
