Aims and Objectives

To create a world class new College for Glasgow, in a world
class estate which will form part of a prestigious Learning
Quarter by supporting the development of a more dynamic,
entrepreneurial and internationally competitive Scotland
with high levels of skills, employability, innovation, enterprise,
productivity and competitiveness;
To build upon the unique strengths of our current colleges
and create high quality national and international Centres
of Excellence with specialist facilities covering such areas as
Creative Industries, Maritime Studies, Computing and Internet
Technologies and Built Environment, and become a recognised
provider of international standing for high quality learning and
teaching and willing to disseminate best practice;
To provide an empowering student experience by placing
equal value on vocational, academic and work-based curricula
and developing comprehensive access routes for participation,
achievement and progression;
To transform the quality of Further Education, and be
a leading centre for further education and skills training
for 1 in 10 of Scottish College Students;
To provide direct support for Scotland's key economic
sectors: Energy; Financial and Business Services; Food and
Drink; Life Sciences; Maritime; Tourism and Creative Industries;
To be a positive catalyst for change and socio-economic
regeneration in the City and at the Riverside, developing new
and l exible approaches to curriculum and learning delivery
capable of meeting both the short term skill needs of the
economy and longer term socio-demographic demands.
