of specialist vocational subject disciplines
in a city centre location, the college will
be attractive to overseas learners and one
study suggests that this alone has the
potential to contribute an additional £1.2
m to the economy of the area annually.

1.4 Name for the New College
Following an extensive period of
consultation and market research the
proposed name for the new merged
college is:
City of Glasgow College
A legal search has indicated that there are
no legal impediments to the new College
adopting this name. Our legal advisors
have reported:
'There is no company named 'City of
Glasgow College' currently registered
with the UK register of companies';

our desk top checks ......have revealed
that there are no other colleges or
universities that have a registered trade
mark containing the phrase 'City of
Glasgow College'.

Schools of national expertise, will pioneer
