Is there a secure space where I can park
my bike?
In total, we have 310 cycle racks at the City Campus.
These are within a cupboard cycle store area adjacent to
the main entrance. In addition Sheffield style racks are
provided (which are inverted U bars concreted into the
ground). These racks are for both staff and student use.
The areas are well lit, sheltered and covered by CCTV.
There are some storage lockers contained within this
area, these supplement the locker provision throughout
the building.
The College is considering corporate membership of
the Nextbike Glasgow project. There is a Nextbike
station located at the end of Florence Street adjacent
to Riverside Campus. We are investigating whether we
might fund a Nextbike station on our own grounds.
What changing facilities are provided?
There are separate male and female showering
and changing facilities within various faculties and
departments which staff are free to use.
Where can I store my equipment such as cycle
helmet and gloves?
All staff areas have lockers for storing personal items
and can be used for items such as helmets, gloves etc.
These lockers are in addition to those within the cycle
store and there are the various coat rails located in staff
areas for storing outdoor clothing.
What about travelling between campuses?
The College minibus runs regularly throughout the day
and is bookable.
FAQs - Cycles, Parking &
Vehicle Drop-offs
Car parking
To meet the Glasgow City Council planning
stipulations for city centre parking, City Campus will
have 44 vehicle spaces in addition to 10 accessible
spaces close to the Level 2 entrance. These spaces
will be statutorily designated as spaces for disabled
drivers with blue badges.
The car parking spaces at the new campus will be
managed and allocated for a combination of special
needs users, visitors and College vehicles. There is
a main service yard for all construction commercial
deliveries. There will be minimal general parking for
staff. There is minibus and taxi drop off point adjacent
to the car park shown on the plan on above. Whilst
the demolition of the Townhead Building progresses,
there will be a temporary entry route to the accessible
parking spaces shown at key (3) above. This will be
clearly signposted.
Electric cars
The College will move towards electric vehicles and
has included charging points within the campus.
