A more productive economy is able not only to produce more goods and services over time but also better
quality goods and services. A more productive economy is also one that is able to invest more in public
services. It is a key driver therefore of living standards and national prosperity.
The latest figures show that Scotland has caught up in recent years with the UK in terms of productivity -
