For the third successive year, the winner of the prestigious F&C Investment Prize has

been an HND Legal Services student from City of Glasgow College (2019-2021).

Heather Ramsay won in 2019, Kirstie Ann Duncan in 2020 and Honor McAlpine in

2021.

All three winners have demonstrated a high commitment to further development of

their skills set and found the experience to be purposeful as well as enjoyable. The

students have progressed successfully to degree studies. Heather progressed to

study a Bachelor of Arts in Law at the University of Oxford. Kirstie Ann is currently

studying for the Bachelor of Law (LLB) degree at the University of Strathclyde. Honor

is studying for the Bachelor of Law (LLB) at the University of Dundee. It is noteworthy

that students from other curriculum areas within City of Glasgow College have

competed well in the competition, often coming a close second or third to the winner.

The winner of the College Development Network 'Student of the Year Award' has

been won for the last two consecutive years by learners from the HND Legal Services

course at City of Glasgow College. Both Kirstie Ann Duncan and Violet Hejazi who

won the award respectively in 2020 and 2021, have experienced challenging

circumstances which they have overcome, resulting in high levels of success. Both

Kirstie Ann and Violet have overcome obstacles, finding success and inspiring others

through their determination. As noted above, Kirstie Ann is now studying at the

University of Strathclyde. Violet has progressed to the study of the Bachelor of Law

(LLB) at the University of Stirling.
