A College on the
World Stage
City of Glasgow College is truly a college on a global scale. It is committed to providing world
class facilities, exceptional teaching, strong links to industry and ultimately to deliver the
best talent pipeline from school to employment.
Principal and Chief Executive, Paul Little, believes this century will see people sit up and take
notice of tertiary education:
I see college education, with
its focus firmly on professional and
technical skills, as the first choice
for students and the shipping
industry alike.
Our Riverside campus is the most
future-proofed maritime campus
in the world and sets the standard
for the UK. A multi-award winning
building, it also represents a multimillion investment
in maritime
education and is a showcase in the
renaissance of the River Clyde and
Glasgow's shipping heritage.

About the Principal
Principal and Chief Executive of City of Glasgow College Paul Little has recently been made a
Fellow of The Nautical Institute. This is an honour that is only awarded to those who have made
a significant contribution to the nautical profession. It was presented to him in recognition of the
major impact he has had, and is having, on maritime education and training.
The appointment cited his work in regenerating the Glasgow College of Nautical Studies. The
Principal accepted the honour on behalf of the College as endorsement of its ambition to lead
the global maritime college community.
An avid seafarer, Principal Paul Little has combined a distinguished 30 year career in tertiary
education with a voluntary role in the HM Coastguard where he qualified as a Coxswain and
Rescue Officer.
